RUNNING through Spring

April is the month filled with "ALL THE THINGS"...and I think we made it through it, but it was a BLUR.  Spring Break, Rich's 1st Turkey, an Auction, a few concerts, track and my 1st ever Half Marathon!

It's wasn't the 1st of the month but it was the FIRST turkey for Rich.  We are so proud of him and happy for his success.

The NEXT was this FINISH line...it was months worth of training but I did it....

Always a special day at school when the Grandparents get to see the insides and how God is working through this special school.

This Spring is called "Leighton living her best Life" and it's been sponsored by Grammy :)

A year of gymnastics wrapped up for this one too...and part of the tour of fun.  It's crazy to think she will be off to FULL day school next year.

Spirit Days are our favorite...ALOHA!!!!

Spring Break or Bust...Rich and Leighton headed over early and Mom and the big kids headed over after school!

After a year...the fire place FINALLY works and doesn't set off every alarm in the cabin.

Just because it was break...there was no break in the training.  I was about 3 weeks out and had some of my final pushes while on spring break.  Of course, running is made better with Ford.

Watching the birds...

Years and years of pictures at this tree!

Morning walks and getting creative as a team.

Crafting...cooking and making up things to do.

I pray I never take for granted this time...just walking, exploring and being mesmerized by God's creation.

Boating on a COLD day...we didn't last too long, but gave it a go. So Rich dropped the kids and I off and we went and built a fire and roasted s'mores in the cabin.

Ahhh....walks with this guy.

Rich and the bigs headed home for a few days and LJ and I lived our best spring break...

We sure missed everyone but built some memories too!

She even helped me clean up the place....and did a great job!

And then Rich and I got a little time on the lake together (thanks to Grammy and Papa coming to visit)!

Treats at our favorite spot!

It doesn't get better than this!

And toward the end of the week...the sun came out, the music was jamming and we enjoyed the time on the lake together!

Survival structure built by G, M and LJ.

One last walk and trip to the tree before saying goodbye to spring break...

The kids, pup and I loaded up and headed west ....

And this is when the magic happened!!!!
Rich's first turkey!

Smiles for daddy while the troops prepare to get back in the groove!

The taper began and I was starting to get excited for the big race!

Always trying to find those 30 minutes when it is just him and I...this morning it was sunrise coffee in the hot tub.  When the opportunity presents itself, you've got to jump on it.

It doesn't get better...I mean, maybe, but it's always a good day to have a good day on the trail.

Special night out with the big Meyer and the big boy Meyer...doesn't happen enough, but fun to just be with the preteen.
A favorite night always...HCA Auction.
Also, the only picture from the night. :)

Here comes the spring concert season...
1st up LJ at Chapel sharing the pledge and performing.

Next up...preschool concert for families!

And then it was the elementary concert the next night!

This special lady is retiring and she has been a gift to the music program at HCA...and will be greatly missed.

Last run before race day...I tackled the part of the trail that broke me in March.

First HCA track meet for Griffin! 100 m dash, javelin and shotput! Such a fun experience.

LJ even got to help measure.

Go Griffin Go!

Kids got to have a fun weekend with Grammy and Papa...while Rich and I headed to get ready for my race.

Dinner and a concert...well, dinner.  Concert was a no go and the best decision for Sunday.

I mean...yes, JESUS!!

Ready for RACE day!

Off to meet up and catch the shuttle!

Team HCA!

Let's GO!!!

I had a buddy the first few miles and even a face time with grammy and the kids!

Kids in route...see if they will beat mom to the finish line.

And I MADE it...and they beat me!

Mission ACCOMPLISHED...and under 3 hours!

The hugs and support at the finish line was the most amazing...I did something hard, showed them to not quit and had a fun time doing it!

Thanks Mom and Dad for always believing in me and pushing me too...I couldn't have done this without you!

No wise words.  Just try it...you will do great!!!
