Who's voice do you hear?

I saw this quote today and it is an AMAZING reminder of the MOM I want to be, the MOM I hope I am, and the MOM I am still figuring out how to be. (I'm sure Rich feels the same way...but he's working now and I'm blogging)!

Rich and I are often amazed at how happy GRIFFIN is...we will sit and say how lucky we are to have such a happy baby, how blessed we are when we hear his little belly giggles, smile when we come into his nursery in the morning and he is just cooing and laughing, watch him for hours on the baby monitor while he blows raspberries and entertains himself, and just melt a little when we see Chukar and him play (and share) their toys!

When we sit back and question it, we realize he should be happy!
LIFE IS GREAT!!!

He has 2 parents who love him unconditionally and would do anything in the world from him.  A brother who, even when annoyed with him, will drop everything and give him loves (and sometimes even his ball).  A home that is filled with love.  A full belly! An open heart. The freedom to grow and be the little man he is meant to be.  Open arms when he is upset.

Plus, our voices in his head telling him "you can do it", "try it", "we love you", and more.
I'm sure there will be days where he faces challenges, but our only hope (speaking for Rich too) is that he will hear his papa and mama shouting from the rooftops as his biggest fans!

GO GRIFFIN!
We support you!

We want that inner voice to challenge him, yet provide supportive wisdom that guides him to be the BEST him!  Little man, we are so proud of the person you are! You take life as it comes at you, rolling with the punches and are continually trying new things. You know no fear! You remind us daily of the things that truly matter and are so blessed that you share that wisdom with us!

YOU ARE AMAZING!

Food Monster

 Who loves FOOD....that guy!

When we named him Monster over a year ago, we never thought he would turn into such a FOOD MONSTER.  This little man can PUT IT DOWN (probably what is filling up that second chin).

A little taste of what he's been eating lately:
Yams
Mangos
Oatmeat
Peas
Chicken with Apples
Peach and Banana

He definitely has no apprehension when it comes to trying new things...but remains to be full of expressions when he is a little unsure.  I guess he trusts what his mama is making...we will see how long that lasts?!?!  For now, I'm the best cook in the world, until he gets "real" food and figures out that papa is the chef of the family!  I will keep my #1 spot as long as possible...and I can definitely say I enjoy making baby food a whole heck of a lot more that pumping.

This is a little sample of the peach and banana...looks pretty tasty!!!!

YUMMY! YUMMY!
In his tummy...so intent on getting that food in his belly and also trying to help mama with the spoon!  Soon enough G, soon enough!

6 MONTHS OLD!!!!!

Griffin is SIX MONTHS OLD (Half a FREAKING YEAR) and is up to 16.72 lbs.
At his six month appointment his stats were as follows:

Length: 27.52 in (85%)
Weight: 16.72 lbs (36%)
Head: 17.76 in (85%)

We STILL have a tall and skinny little man!
Plus, HELLO PERSONALITY...where does this kid get it?!?!

A few things that Griffin is now doing in MONTH SIX:

  • His tongue is constantly going - licking glasses, blowing raspberries, being silly
  • Still maintaining his double chin
  • Had his first (and second) ear infections
  • Rolled from front to back
  • Spins around on his belly like a top
  • Sits up and stabilizes
And the monthly photo shoot:
