The blah, blah days of February!

It might not be every February, but it sure seems like the older I get, the more the GRAY days of February get to me...maybe it's the kids that need to get their wiggles out, or a mama that craves SUNSHINE...well, this is February in the PNW and it seems like the shortest of months consists of the longest of times!

Add-on living in the craziest of times where most days up seems down and right seems left.  As a family, I say we are grateful for so much, but as a family, we have also struggled through LOTS of growth and change this year.  I know this is not unique to our family, but I am a positive, lesson seeking person and I will continue to look for the rainbows among the rain!

These 3 have seen some growing pains this month (or maybe they are just starting to show), but we are working on finding what needs they each have and addressing it.

For my strong sensitive kid who sees the world in black and white, may I find the grace to guide you....

For my creative and strong willed kid who seeks kindness in the world, may I find the grace to guide you....

For my outgoing people pleasing little one who seeks to make everyone happy, may I find grace to guide you....

These are the world changers, the good news spreaders, the life chasers, the challenge seekers and I can't wait to see them break out of the boxes they are in now and become everything they are destined to be....until then, we will keep on, keeping on....

When Mommy's office is closed, but I needed to pop in for a bit...this little helper came with snacks and bubba's pad pad.

Sister selfies.

I have focused on these words so many times and I am seeing that sometimes what I seek today is not the path that is meant to be and PATIENCE is key to this.

Saturday morning adventures with this rowdy bunch.

A new tradition...started December 2020, Mommy & Millie monthly pedis!  And yes, the "heart" was a blob on my toe, but sweet Millie wanted me to have a heart too.

A break in the rain in February is always reason for a PARK adventure.

And yes, this is what we want in the back yard...a huge swing set for all.

TA-DAH! We made it.

And then we had a couple days off school while waiting for LJ's covid results.  It was just "croup", so we officially became 0-7 with our C19 tests.

Someone likes to pack her "pack-pack" to go to Grammy and Papa's.

All dressed up for her Valentine's Day party...but never too fancy to not be Silly Millie.

Coffee date with this sweetheart and Mama's friend.

And then we doubled down and did lunch too...but switched up our plus 1!

Say what...Friday Fun night with Griffin's buddy.

While the boys played...we started the tear down of the master bedroom!  LJ is our project supervisor.

Time for dessert...all smiles for these 2 boys.

And then we woke up to this....SNOW!!! Yes, lots and lots of SNOW!

We attempted to take the troops for some fun...but we learned a sassy little lady wasn't too keen on the snow this day. Did we turn back? Of course not, we keep on trucking.

Snow trips down the big hill for all....

and then it was time to head back home.

One perk of having kids who love to read in bed....quiet time is no longer a battle (or at least not every day)!

And then it was VALENTINE'S day...filled with love and hearts and treats!  I'm not a huge Valentine's Day fan personally...but I sure love to share the LOVE.

Acts of Service...wow, this was the best! Griffin and Rich helped shovel our neighbors driveway.  This is truly something that made my heart EXPLODE.

These 2 have really started to love helping in the kitchen and when I can get over the mess to appreciate it, I have found it to be so much fun.  Now, I'm looking at new things to bake each weekend (besides cookies and pie).

Special Valentine's from Grammy & Papa.

That's a wrap, matching PJs and a breakable heart.  We missed out on our "heartbaker" pizza this year, but it will be back.

More room progress...the bed frame was in storage and painting had begun.

Next up, wallpaper for our loft and master.

Special pick up during mid-winter break so mama could get some work done.

And the master paper was going up!!!

Chukar supervising the work.

Final projects!!! I never thought I'd love wallpaper, but these both added soooo much to the rooms.

And then the bed was moved to the loft...and we are still there (one month later).

Carpet out...and prepping for the new hardwood floors.

And we decided to paint one more wall!

Here comes the floors.

Say what...no kids and no rain!  Time to go for a walk with this cutie!

Philippians Award for Miss Millicent and she received the award for:
SINCERITY

WE MADE IT!!!
100 Days of in person learning!!!

And then February was about done and it was time for a little adventure.....

Hello Lake Roosevelt!  We have never been this time of year, but boy did we love it! We even decided to go back for spring break and take the boat.

Sunshine and blue bird skies as far as you can see...THIS IS OUR HAPPY PLACE!!!

Exploring and tree climbing, running and playing!

We even discovered some new places we had never been...and ate our way through town.

More sunshine...more tree time.

Most of our weekend was spent outside and finding the things we love to do in the summer are just as fun in the winter too!  Next time, it's beach bonfires and smores by the lake!

This guy...he's the one who helps me by pushing me, knowing I am meant for more, supportive of my dreams for our family and the one who pushes my buttons most frequently.  Life sure isn't all rainbows and sunshine, but I sure love to seek rainbows and chase the sun more with him by my side.

And that's a wrap...Lake Roosevelt, February and the thought that February is a blah month!  As I say to the kids, if you don't like something, change it or walk away.  It might be time for me to really look at the things that are no longer serving me or our family....until then, it's all rainbows!
