The Meyer CV-19 Chronicles: Part 3 (893,097 or MAY)

And so it CONTINUES....flexing our muscles and our minds, all from the kitchen table. The school days flew with bits of chaos and laughter, but we made it.

Best SURPRISE ever on a gloomy May Saturday!!!  Miss Brown came and brought Millie a special surprise...and we did everything we could to social distance.

BUT....when your favorite teacher come all the way to your house, you jump up and down and give the biggest MILLIE smile around.

So many more snuggles at all hours of the day from the littlest Meyer.  One of the hugest blessings that this stay home, stay staff provided us.

TIME as a family!!!!

The sun started to shine a little more and the months of seeing NO ONE shifted a little.  The kids were allowed to go to grammy and papas for a little fun in the afternoon and give mom and dad a little time to work once the school day was done.

Surprise, the whole gang was there when the cousins got to come for fun too!

Morning WORK....it's so funny to learn so much about your kids.  1 that is so eager in the morning, 1 that needs a little more time and 1 that just wants to do everything everyone else is doing.

Suns out and so is the sunshine clothes!

Pajama Day became a weekly thing at our house...heck, anything that helped put smiles on their faces and make the monotony of NEVER leaving the house more manageable.

And then it was TEACHER appreciation week!

First up, a surprise visit to Mrs. Shilley!

Next up, a surprise visit to Miss Brown!

The kinders did a drive by parade...and then a little social distancing HELLO!

Want to know what resilience looks like? It's keeping a smile on your face, doing your best and dealing with a crazy little sister that disrupts you ALL OF THE TIME. It's doing all of this when your mom is taking work calls and life is just so not how it has been.  It's rolling with the punches and continuing to be better because you are a ROCKSTAR!

A little quote about perspective....so NEEDED during this chaos.

YES, it was time....the LAKE was open FINALLY and we got to go have some afternoon fun.  Seriously, the weirdest thing was not being able to go out on the boat when it would have been the easiest social distance adventure around. Ok, maybe not the weirdest part of COVID...but definitely weird.

Side note:  Think back to when you first heard about covid.  Did you ever thing it would effect you this long? I sure didn't.  Now, late July 2020 when I'm catching up on May blog days and I finally realize it will still be a LONG time before it's not an issue...and what will the world look like then?

For now, back to sunny days on the lake and wrapping up May.

And this is how the MEYER FAMILY does spring!

New books...new lego designs for show and share....and BIG smiles!

And then we had our 1st social distance BBQ with friends that had been locked up just like us.  We decided to let the animals run wild and grill and be old-normal....and it was WONDERFUL!!!  The kids took a bit to figure out how to play with other kids again, which for a very social family was hard to see....BUT, they figured it out, like they always do!

A time for firsts....JIMMY JOHNS!  Yep, my kids had never had Jimmy John's pre-covid and now it's one of their favorites.  Win-win!

And then, it was another weekend and time to hit the lake again.

Fish on Griffin!

Rich finding a moment to himself with sunrise fishing!

I mean, this smile says it all. Squirt me mama!

Back to business!

And then, it was my time for zoom with the ladies.  Gosh I miss all the social nights out with friends, the building our dreams together and the accountability partners...but for awhile, and even still now, it's survival.  The best part is these ladies are some of my besties and without our amazing nutrition, we would probably not have bonded like we have!

More cheesy grins and big muscle shots.  I'm sure their teachers loved these.  I think I want to make a flip book with these because I smile each time I see them. As hard as some of those days were, looking back makes me realize that they were thriving.  So proud of these monkeys.

And yeah for Leighton for just going with the flow....day in and day out (like she had another option).

Day 5,206

Day, 15,764

Day 3,678,298

Work hard. Play Hard!

And for the people who need a reminder...memes like this were perfect during this time.

Let's get crafty...time to build nightstands for the kids.

And then it was time for....who knows, Costco, McLendons, a drive? We went everywhere together since we all had cabin fever.

As school was starting to wrap up and we saw a light at the end of the tunnel, Rich and I decided it was time to turn our side yard (aka Chukar's toliet) into something we love...so began the Meyer Garden of 2020.

And in that garden we found a little bird nest with eggs....the nest didn't survive Chukar, but it's the circle of life, I guess.  I still cried.

Kids who dress themselves are 100% happier and less likely to complain over dumb stuff (or so I keep telling myself).

Time to figure out what we want to GROW.

Lots of work....planting, watering, shoveling, moving!

Personality? What personality?!?!

Making progress....job 1 was to get all the grass out and make it level.

Daddy's 1st day back....AND it was hard on everyone.  After over 8 weeks together, someone leaving was new.

BUT...they recovered and were all smiles and back to work before the car was even out of the driveway.

Sometimes YOU just have to do what you have to do!

Someone was getting sleepy...I think this was a facetime screen capture when she was talking to grammy.

And then Grammy came over to help here....so I could work and the kids could be here.  <3

Monkey see. Monkey do.  LJ learned/absorbed SO much from being home with the big kids this spring. Something that I feel so blessed to have.

The famous unicorn sweatshirt and minecraft shirt...they have their favorites!

THIS IS LIFE!  Day in, day out AND I'm not sure I'd change a thing.  Well, maybe a few, but it was a pretty special time.

One of Griffin's 1st times out of the house with a mask was for his eye appointment.  It was over an hour long and he did FANTASTIC!!!

Thank goodness for Bothell UMC and the amazing group of leaders that started Thursday afternoon kid's connections.  The kids look forward to it each week to say hello to their church family and have some fun.

Reading. Reading. Reading.  Yes, I'm a stickler for the minutes and it's sure paying off.

Time to get out of the house and ride!

Millie's canteloupe starts she did with Grammy.

Precious time with these 2!  It was far too long without the hugs and loves...and it is so worth seeing them together now.

Time to wrap up the garden and get it built and planted.

One MILLION loads of dirt and gravel, but in true Rich Meyer fashion, we had to do it the right way.

And this is the reason LJ's new name is "GARDEN BABY"....

Look at this cute garden...a labor of love, but something so fun and love having this area of our yard cleaned up and working.  Now, come on tomatoes and peppers, we are ready to indulge.

That's a WRAP MAY!!!!
