What a fun way to kick off the summer and support your friends new wine adventure!!! It was fun to have a personal drop off from our new fav Walla Walla wine before we headed out for a week at the lake!
Bring on the fun adventures!
And we were off...Trip #1 of 2020 to Lake Roosevelt and trip #6 in total since 2016. We've decided that Lake Roosevelt, Seven Bays in particular, is our little slice of heaven!
The view as your crest over Miles-Creston road and we know the summer oasis is almost in reach!!
Who are these old farts at the lake? Oh, it's just US...after a LONG spring trapped in the house with the coronacoaster...but we made it to the lake and were ready to kick back and have some good old-fashioned family fun.
The girls took all of 3 seconds to settle in. This place truly feels like home and we look forward to sneaking over to Lake Roosevelt every chance we get. And yes...it's less than 3 weeks until we head back again!!!
No time to waste...let's get this party moving to the lake!!!
And we're off!!!
First fish of the trip went to Rich...but Millie was a close second!
The only way to catch a fish is to FISH...all lines in!
The Boat.
For people who questioned us when we were buying it saying it's a bad decision, Rich and I always laugh and say it is one of the simple best decisions we have made for our family. It's something everyone loves, it gets us outside and we get to have this special time together! This decision, like most we've made, I do not regret and actually I feel so blessed that we jumped on it when we were a little unsure but just dove in. It's funny how lots of the decisions we have made seem to go like that!
And boating baby turned out to be a lap napper...but she napped so that's a win!
1st question on the boat each morning from the kids....when can we explore a beach? It's fun because we have found a few bays that the kids love to play at the beach and Rich can hang and fish for a bit too. Win-win!
Yep....that's an eagle. Lucky sign for this family!
The only thing that happens more than fishing on this boat is SNACKING...I swear, these kids eat their weight in snacks while out on the lake!
Millie's fish or Daddy's fish...I don't remember but look at those smiles, you can't forget those!
These are my PEOPLE!!!!
Even garden/boating baby became FISHING baby!!! Get that rod in their hands as soon as they can stand up and they will fish for life!
Cheers to our 1st bottle of Girl and Pop!
Mom is usually behind the camera...but every once in a while I get the "proof of mom" shot...typically with a love bug napping on my lap!
Just a baby deer and her mama.
The kids even got to check them out from the patio.
New day...new adventure. We went to Banks Lake mid-week to spice things up and see what else the area had to offer for adventures!
Blue bird skies for days and a hose to play with...everyone is in heaven.
It was a SPICY day...so mom did what mom does...jumped in to cool off! Yep, any water any chance I can get. I even convinced G to join me.
This girl loves smiling with mama and I will take it EVERY SINGLE CHANCE I CAN!
Nothing like a groupie when you are going 30 mph and can't see...of course, this is one of my fav pics from the trip and is now on the WALL of Fame at our house aka the good memories wall!
The reward for a long trip back to the cabin...ICE CREAM. With covid having most places shutdown, it was drumsticks from the grocery store, but these kids could have cared less. Ice cream is Ice cream!
Bottle this up and show this to me every single day...it's like I'm sitting there at my happy place with all my loves just being blessed for this amazing life we have created!!!
A day well spent means sleeping kids...and time for the adults to just hang and enjoy the quiet evening sunset!
Fish on for the G man!
Boating baby finally figured out how to nap like the bigs on the boat...and this mama was happy!
Snacks, beaches, fishing, fun...repeat!
I mean...she was comfy and carefree, I consider it a win!
He's a bird dog...we think! And she's a fish baby...we think!
Yep....we almost did a thing...but not this trip! Fingers crossed sometime in the near future!
Did I mention parks...yep, we explore those too!
Loaded up and ready for another day...I laugh at these pictures because to everyone else this might seem redundant, but to us...this is paradise!
It's official...Meyer Beach 2020!
And then there are days where we just hang back....the luxury of a week at the lake is having a day to just chill.
And then it was the EVE of 6 and this girl was sooooo excited!!! Although she told us she wanted a big party for her birthday...a trip to the lake was "ok" in her book!
Sunset fishing at the "honey hole"...aka our secret location deemed honey hole by Griffin in 2016! And has been lucky every visit since.
Hello BIRTHDAY Girl...this is SIX!!!!
More than a handful at this point...
She even got special cupcakes from our lake neighbors!
A beach trip was a special request from the birthday girl....and I think everyone was game for this!
Driving on daddy's lap is ALWAYS a priceless adventure!
And then it was time for CAKE.....Happy Birthday Millicent Grace!
That's a wrap Lake Roosevelt 2020 one point O!!!
And as we arrived home...the celebration continued!!!!
We had a very special celebration for Millie with GG, Roxy, Grammy & Papa! It might have been small, but it was MIGHTY!
The special bound that GG and Leighton have is priceless!
And there you have it...all the birthday sass and smiles!
Another day....another CAKE for the leading lady of June!
Mama got a new ride...something more "my size"!
Back home and hanging with papa...
Learning how to water with GG.
Summer bring fun adventures with friends...and on this Wednesday we got to experience a new park with LJ's friend Ella.
Summer SNUGGLES!!!
A little 4th of July FLARE!
And yes...haircuts were finally had by the BIG kids!
Bring on the 4th of July fun with FRIENDS!!!
The Meyer - Bell - O'Stacey troops!
Water balloons, brunch and fun...yep, that's a great start to the 4th!
And since there was no parade this year...we made our own parade!
Such a fun day and so many special memories with these families!
And we even had a 4th of July "tooth"!!
Next stop...the afternoon at the O'Staceys!
I feel so lucky to have this special lady by my side for the past 21 years...and now raising babies together is so special!
Uncle Adam and Griffin...the "kings" of 4th of July!
The fun and magic all wrapped up in these special moments...I will always cherish these days and feel lucky to be present with my kids to make them. I do not take this role lightly!
And that is how we do.... 2020 4th of July!
To my main firework...Love you babe! I cherish these days building a life with
you, today, tomorrow and always!
And that's a WRAP 4th of JULY...with Griffin's 1st bean burrito from Taco Bell.
