October is a FUN month and maybe one of my favorites. Most years, we are settling into the groove of school, soaking in some sunshine, enjoying trips to the pumpkin patch and celebrating birthdays and Halloween. Well, 2020 might have looked different to this point, but we made sure that we soaked in all the memories and are being very deliberate with the time we have together! Heck, that's what GROWING UP MEYER is all about!
A sunny Friday afternoon called for dinner and some fun on the lake!
Captain Leighton sure loves to be on the BOAT...well, all the kids do and we are sure are happy about that because it seems to be the place that everyone in our family can just unwind.
And what happens after 1 fun night on the lake....another adventure! The boys decided to head East and spend the day over at Pot Holes for a fishing extravaganza!
So while the boys were away...the girls decided to have a little fun too! M, LJ and I hit up Cougar Mountain Zoo for a little outdoor fun!
Then it was a late sushi lunch by request from Millie.
And then the evening concluded with the whole gang back together for Family Movie night! I'd say that was a day well spent!!!
In the hustle and bustle of election season, it was finally time to find a special home for my favorite presidential candidates.
If there ever was a year that this didn't really matter...but the donation went to a great cause, right?!?!
Bring back the tarzan top of 1999!!!
The HCA Fun run looked a little different in 2020....but the kids (ummm, Rich) did some great work fundraising for the school! Since parents aren't heading into school this year, it's fun when teachers send us some of the happenings inside.
And then it was already time for PUMPKINS!
I mean, what is there really to say that hasn't been said before!
We love our annual tradition of the pumpkin patch and this was our 8th trip to Craven Farms.
Grammy and Papa joined us for some fun at the patch!
I don't know how many more years they will do this for me...but I definitely cherish every time they still do!
If I could just bottle up this age...she is so fun and so curious! I'm loving having some 1 on 1 time with her this fall with the BIGS back in school. She has grown up so much in the last few months and I can't believe she is TWO!!!
Not a trip to the pumpkin patch without some DUCK races.
So a little word of advise...MOM is not able to jump up on this as easy as Millie...but the picture turned out cute, so hey, it was worth it.
Another loose front tooth....and then it was gone too!
I mean...she's TWO. It's time she frosts her own birthday cup
2020 brought a smaller celebration...but it was still something very SPECIAL for the littlest love.
All the COUSINS ready to say CHEESE!
The BIRTHDAY girl and the family!
Big Sis...Little Sis.
This little love is happy 101% of the time. She shines so bright and is just a barrel of laughs!
School Pictures...Millie 1st Grade & Griffin 2nd Grade.
Is this my color?
A fun CARnival at church for Halloween...we dressed up and visited Heather, Adam & Easton before heading to church.
We met up with the O'Malley clan to have some CARnival fun.
It had been almost a year...and many changed dentist appointments, but we were able to sneak in and get the all clear! NO cavities.
And then it was TIME TO VOTE! Cheers to living in a Country where we have this privilege.
Meyer SWAT Team reporting for duty.
And this was the word to live by for October...LOVE!!!
Special girl adventure to get pedicures!
Yes...the kids are STILL in person learning. I never thought they'd still be going in October...but here we are December 2nd (as I blog) and we are still going. YEAH!!!
That one day when you thought it would be fun to make caramel apples...but it didn't turn out quite right. These were my caramel peelers...
2020 sure changed what birthdays look like for the Meyer family...but I think Griffin approved of this one! Some special fun with his best buds! The amount of Minecraft talk in this ride would blow your mind.
The birthday boy requested Pancakes for brunch! McMenamins is our favorite for birthday pancakes.
Ready to head to Grammy and Papa's to celebrate
A bit of a wild day...but Rich was able to carve pumpkins with the kids ON Halloween!
