Christmas Tree Adventure 2018

The holidays have come and gone...our then 6 week old baby is approaching 6 months in a blink of an eye and we are still living a transient life style with more love and support than we could ever imagine.

Back in December, or was it late November, the Meyer troops loaded up for a day of fun in the mountains to pick out the perfect tree (that would never get decorated or even put inside)...but it was the adventure that made the memories and the memories that make me smile!

The adventure started with a quick bite at the family favorite...Taco Time!

Lunch would not have been complete without a car nursing session and blowout from LJ!

We arrived and there was a TON of snow at our favorite spot in the mountains!

The big ones and Rich off to explore!

Don't worry...Mama and LJ were not missing out on this good old Griswold, I mean, Meyer Christmas adventure.

A WOO-HOO for the timer on the iPhone so we all could get in the picture!

CHUKAR too!!!
His happy place.

The troops were done...and still no TREE.

I mean...so squishy and so tiny!

The kids were cold...so Dad went on a solo mission at spot #2.  Success!!!

Tree was loaded up on Bessie and ready to head for some post adventure snacks!

HOT CHOCOLATE for the troops!

...and an impromptu PARADE in the town we stopped at!

BAM!!!! We made it back to "The White House" and had our Meyer Family Christmas tree.  Next year, it will be inside...but for this year, we had a little fun with the spirit at the remodel house!

This year has taught us A LOT about patience and persistence.  To keep traditions alive even if they are a little different than before.

My favorite HOOD is Motherhood...

A friend shared this and I wanted to keep it somewhere forever.  These are not my words, but they are my soul.

You know what is hard? Motherhood. You know what is amazing ? Motherhood. You know what is lonely? Motherhood (even though you are never alone, like ever). You know what makes you feel like the biggest failure? Motherhood. You know what makes you feel like you are super human? Motherhood. You know what makes you feel like you are crazy? Motherhood. You know what makes you feel like the most patient person in the world? Motherhood. And guess what makes you feel like the most impatient person in the world, yup, Motherhood. You know what brings out your worst side? Motherhood. You know what brings out your best side? Motherhood. Motherhood, it is full of oxymorons, polar opposites, fear, doubt, joy, love, and literally every single emotion in between and some you didn’t even know existed. Wherever you are on this motherhood spectrum, from brand new to having grand children, all of us feel these emotions, you really aren’t alone. So to every person who feels a little alone today, please take this post and pocket it. The beautiful thing about motherhood is, we should all get it. We are all doing the best we can, with never ever knowing how to actual do it. So smile at the new mom, the mom with a whole bunch of kids in tow, and to the grandmother who has seen it all. Because there's no reason for any of us to be alone in this thing because we really should be able to all relate on one thing, and that is the above.

You are MY person!

I still remember the first day you walked in my life....I remember your cocky swagger and your smile.  I remember the lavender button down shirt and the moment our eyes met. Then you were gone...I didn't know your name, I didn't take a chance to introduce myself, I didn't know if I'd ever see you again.

I still remember the second day you walked into my life....it was you AGAIN and this time I wasn't going to miss the opportunity.

I still remember our 1st work "engagement"....you letting me run into the door because it opened in and didn't push out....and laughing at me.

I still remember the power of the Cobra on the 405 on ramp.

I still remember telling my friends that you were different and I was going to take a chance and pursue your love.

I still remember trying to act so cool around you so that you thought I was cool.

I still remember the first time you whispered I LOVE YOU in my ear after we had been together for almost a year.

I still remember us both protecting our hearts not knowing that this was forever.

It's been 4,868 days since you walked into my life and I love you more today than ever! I love our crazy chaotic life we have created.  I love our arguments of nothing. I love that most decisions we make have been thought about for so long that we don't even have to think about it....boat, 3rd kid, hex knobs, white paint, grey countertops, DONE!

I love that we love our little people with all that we are. I love that even when we are a little broken, we find a way to sneak a moment in together.

You are my person...always have been, always will be.

The final stretch of school and start to summer!!!

Memorial Day to Mexico...the end of the school year came and went and we are deep into summer 2026!  May seems to hold so many events and wi...
