Spring Break 2026 for the record books!

Spring Break 2026 was one epic day after another...we are typically a family that enjoys the quiet time off the grid, slow mornings sipping coffee, long walks, swimming and time together BUT we opted for an "Adventure" Spring Break this year and were BLOWN away.  And funny enough, we had all those moments too.  We even now have a little plan to hit ALL the National Parks as a family and have multiple planners getting ready to make it happen.

Taking this crew on the road was so fun and each day held it's own magic, fun and laughs!

There is one moment that tops them all and that was Millicent deciding to get baptized on Easter.  No other moment holds a candle to this....but the Grand Canyon, Josiah Queen, Saguaro National Park, Lazy River days and multiple trips to SWIG hold a distant tie for 2nd place.

Pictures will never do Arizona justice...we just fell in love with every place we went.

Sunday morning was Easter and we headed to a church that was recommended by some friends. Doughnuts before service outside for the win.

And then....
I call it the "Turn the Car Around" moment.

Millicent felt convicted by the Easter service and was ready to be baptized! There isn't much to say about this, but I was so proud of this girl stepping out in faith and committing her life to follow Jesus.  She has grown so much this past year and I have truly seen her make her faith her own.

Monday was for the horses...if you remember from earlier this year, LJ wanted to go horseback riding and we went on a small ride for her birthday.

This trip was hour long and we all got to take a horse.  What a magical moment to ride with the kids through the amazing Cottonwood Valley.

A fancy deviled egg that needed a spot on the highlights reel!

The first few days we stayed in Sedona by Bell Rock and the area was so fun to adventure through.

Tuesday morning it was off to "the big hole" with a detour to Route 66 on the way.  Millie is decidedly our "adventure" kid who through out multiple fun ideas throughout the trip.

Route 66 was one of them.

Coffee and fun...of course.

We made it to the Grand Canyon and decided to do a hike in...4 hours later we made it back out.

Mom being mom...and yea, I know I can do it from my watch now.

The trip pushed us and each one of us made it the whole way...about 2,000 feet of elevation change and 4 miles hiked.  It was amazing and gave each of us a little desire to find more of these adventures to do together...and of course, this was the trip that sparked the National Park tour for the future.

Forced pictures by mom....hahah!!!! Thank goodness the camera was away most of the time and these 3 didn't have to "POSE" too much, but memories were made in these times too!

Always time for ice cream...

After a few days in Sedona...we headed down to Scottsdale for the rest of the trip.

When in Arizona...go to Scheels!

Scottsdale had a lot of lazy river, quiet coffees and no pictures.  Just memories for us 5!

Surprise...Josiah Queen Night in Phoenix!  You "Can't steal my Joy" but better "Watch you Mouth" because "My Promised Land is You" so "I'll Fly Away".  IT WAS THE BEST.

When you find out another National Park is only 2 hours away and your dad is a road warrior...Friday was for Saguaro National Park and the BIG Cactus!!!!

And a trip to SWIG on the way back.

Interrupt this Spring Break to share Ford's Bird Camp.  We sure missed him, but he

Wrapped up Friday night with dinner at my aunt and uncles with my cousin and his family.  A true treat!

Saturday was for a LAZY day at the lazy river and a movie before the trip home...

Even the airport was fun....

And that's a wrap Arizona...we will be back!!!
