And that's a WRAP 2025....a look from the end of December to the beginning and makes me so grateful for all the fun times we had and even more grateful for the times we said "this is too much"...
We had some R&R at the cabin, celebrated Christmas for days, had fun with family and friends, more basketball and lots of trips to look at the Christmas lights!
I probably say this TOO much, but this is my FAVORITE season with the kids (the one we are in). The questions are harder, the challenges seem a bit more than we expected, but again, I come back to raising kids for "such a time as this". It's overwhelming and exhausting. It's challenging and frustrating. And yet, it's exhilarating too! It's filled with so many questions and reflections on me as a mom...but I keep coming back to find the JOY in the quiet, the PEACE in the unknown, the PATIENCE in the million and one directions I am pulled, and the LOVE that grows each day. And I keep trying to be better each day...even when I miss the mark more than I care to admit!
So I don't look at this as "the perfect life"...this is a snapshot and there is plenty of mess behind these pictures...but it's our little mess and I'm grateful to be able to grow, learn and change each day.
So here goes the recap for the end of the year...the back to front. The good times and guess what...we don't take pictures when the hearts are broken, the voices are raised, the stressful days of running a million directions, the raising kids in chaos...but they are there and I just pray that we keep leaning into God to find peace when the road ahead may look a little uncertain.
I read something that said...what a blessing it is to look around and see pieces of my old prayers scattered everywhere. So in the mess, I know that my silent prayers are still be worked on and I will take this season and reflect on all the answers I see in these moments of December.
Griffin "Burning Man" Meyer...he has overtaken me as the fire maker and sustainer!
Millie needing a quiet moment and LJ not far behind...
I hope I never take these days for granted...I know there will be a time when it isn't all of us...and I just pray that I stay grateful for all these days that God gave us together. No distractions. Just us.
