Never have I ever seen a January like the January we just had...we had more sunshine and adventures and maybe just a little bit better attitudes that any January of the past...and for that I am so grateful! Personally, I've been working on "grumbling" less and while I struggle with that it's truly amazing to try to work on that and see how the fruit starts growing.
Mid month, Rich and Ford set out of an end of bird season adventure East at the cabin. Sweet Ford has been a great hunter and Rich was able to secure his first bird with Ford. Well done boys...a first hunting season for the books for these two with many more adventures to come.
Meanwhile in Bothell...we watched A LOT of Millie "Beast-Mode" no Grace Meyer on the court. For lacing up her shoes for the first time only a few times before her first game, it's been a blast to see her grow on the court and have a ball too!
Leading a little Bible Pledge at chapel with some of the 5th grade crew.
Speaking of lacing up...Ford and I took to the streets of Bothell and I'm officially back to 5K running. Next stop 10K with a future stop of Half Marathon this spring!
This bean dip never stood a chance.
It's true...you can work out and they will watch, mimic and lounge with you! <3
A special trip with the littlest lady.
Western Day!
Mommy and Millie's weekend away...this girl is becoming a woman and it's so nice to have time together to chat, learn, grow and speak freely. It's hard to navigate with growing hormones, but my prayer is that she seeks God first and me second in this journey.
When you are "away" for the weekend...but close enough to head to the school skating night!
Back to the cabin for lots of girl talks and lots of PACE!!!
Seeing this wild animal in her natural habitat and just getting her to myself was such a blessing!
Walks. Talks. Ice Cream.
Of course, movies and facetiming the pup too!
Back home and off to wish Grammy a HAPPY BIRTHDAY with homemade Creme Brulee!
Take me for a run mom....please!
Griffin had his end of year banquet for basketball. Wrapping up an amazing 1st season and next year we will get that win. Proud of him being a servant leader on and off the court!
When the wi-fi is down...we freeze our buns off and spend Friday afternoon playing outside!
Mom and kid weekend was full of.....
Churching!
Dining out!
Ice Cream stops!
And birthday wishes for Auntie Roxy!
Back to the grind one day...and home sick the next! Thankfully, it was quick lived!
Nothing this guy likes more than walks with moms...well, probably birds with dad off leash, but who's counting!
And then another wild Friday night at the Meyer house...Handstands!
This kid surprised me with a change in hair and I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!!! He looks like my little boy not a wild llama!
Did I say BLUEBIRD skies all January long....this is what I meant! Best January to get back out running and loving these days jamming worship music and moving my body.
That's a wrap Quarter 2 at school...so we snuck out at lunch and headed to the cabin to wrap up January!
January wasn't exhausting at all!
Ahhh, the bestest place in the WORLD!!! Bet me, there isn't a better place for me on this side of heaven.
Cabin snacks...on a weekend that we just popped in the car and left, food was an adventure in itself!
Handsome Boy...to the crazy tune of dunt dunt duuuuh!
Below freezing temperatures but this hot box was a mix of summer and winter!
Always getting our steps in...and look at those BLUE skies!
Off to the beach to fish a bit...well, he fishes. I hang and chat!
The kids even decided to join in for a bit...chilly but so beautiful!
On our way to check out the new pizza place in town...we were able to see the moon and Venus.
And that's a 5 star review for PIZZA and ICE CREAM from all the Meyers!
Nothing like playing on ice puddles!
We headed out and even made it to evening church! Our cups full from the time off the grid and then overflowing with the ability to sneak in a little worship to end the weekend!
Here's to spending more time being grateful and less time grumbling!!!
