Oh mid-winter break...you come just when we all need a little escape and this year we headed to California to soak up some sunshine with Grammy for part 1 and Dad for part 2 of break!
What an amazing escape!
It's few and far between that we actually do the airplane/hotel travel and I know why...we like our space, our food and having the creature comforts of a house/cabin.
We've noted this for the upcoming requests for:
Grand Canyon
Palm Springs
Kauai
Looks like we are more of a VRBO family than a 5* resort family!
Bright and Early we picked up Grammy and headed SOUTH!!!
Let's do this...
1st Stop...IN and OUT!!!
No matter how old they get...the love LEGOS and it was fun to experience this ONE more time. Bitter sweet as it was most likely the last...but also fun to see them enjoy these moments together.
Only kids from Washington see sunny and 50 degrees as a chance to go swimming!
This is the life! It makes me count down the seconds to summer!
Off to explore and get some dinner...where everything is AWESOME and everything is LEGO!!!
First day at the park with Grammy!!!
Rides and Rides and lots of building! I still laugh that these kids are not "coaster" kids and Legoland is just our speed.
The submarine and boat rides are always a favorite!
A fun-filled day and then....off to swim!
With Grammy, we took her to our favorite mexi restaurant on the beach...and it did not disappoint.
Late night drive-by past a cool church...Hey Phil, we must have missed you!
Next up...Seaworld with Daddy and Grammy!
Not everyone was brave enough to have the fish nibble the fingers.
All the fish...sharks...whales and more!
Even a ride or 2!
That's a wrap Seaworld and we took Grammy to the airport after a fun few days! So fun to have the special time in Cali with Grammy.
Mom and Dad "Date" to get coffee and hang with Kai!
Another Day...another trip to Legoland!
I mean...the lines we short and we were able to do all the things (in the sun)!
A little bitter sweet...knowing this is probably the LAST Legoland trip, but we sure enjoyed it.
Face paint...of course!
Lock them UP!!!
The middle isn't a coaster fan...so we explored while the other went!
And then there was a day to explore...outside of Legoland! This was my personal favorite day and much more "Meyer" speed!
It's fun having everyone big enough to hike, explore and sometimes complain together!
All good hikers deserve some yummy ice cream and Jojo's did not disappoint.
Beach time!!!
And one more shot of Phil's Church...I mean, what an amazing little space.
This! Give them sand and no plans...
Toes in the sand...
Back for more treats...sure, why not!
It was "head home" day...but we blew it out one last time! Soaking in this time with the kids is just my favorite. We learn as we go, but this journey is the best!
Because when you are 6...you get to get your face painted again...even to just go home :)
Last day at Legoland...all the sad faces.
We almost forgot "SeaLife" outside the park so we explored that too!
Even snuck in a Lego movie...
That's a wrap Mid-winter break 2025! You gave us sunshine and smiles and refreshed spirits. We learn more together and figure out things as we go...and as always, TIME is our favorite.
