Oh October, you are such a special month with birthdays and sports and ALL THE THINGS...but you sure were BUSY! We had to make some decisions to forgo what we "had done in the past" to make sure it still served us in this season! 3 kids...3 sports...school...music...more. We aren't busier than anyone else...and it's a choice, but I'm so grateful that November will bring a little reprieve! (And as I sit here today without power, I'm trying to stay in the attitude of gratitude....)
Grateful for the sunny soccer games cheering on Griffin. The HCA team had an amazing season and it was fun to watch G grow during his second season playing soccer. Such an amazing opportunity to learn something new and have some fun.
Picture day...they don't always look this good on the way to school at 7:35am!And the reward for helping out...sneak peeks!
Sunny afternoons meant a few more opportunities to get in a few family walks. We blew past our 300 mile goal this year already, but it doesn't mean that the steps are stopping.
Fun Run...took up some FUN times in October. From planning, to raising money, to running the day of, it was a crazy month!
Saturdays were filled with cheering on the Bothell Junior Cougs Cubs and JV teams..both squads had an amazing season and this past weekend, the Cubs took the championship in their undefeated season with a double OT victory!
Oh sunshine...how we love you! Ready to escape East for some more bluebird days.
Halloween decorating this year...last year we missed it but LJ would not let us skip it 2 years in a row.
The first 6th grade moms night of the year...many of these moms have been together since Kinder or earlier and many have joined along the way :)
Kids each earned a "MOM and KID" adventure and it was fun to see what each chose...Griffin and I spent an evening racing and gaming at Dave & Busters.
Millie and I spent an evening at the craft store and ice cream....
Millie earning the Spirit Stick on a SUNNY day!
Leighton hosted some friends to make ROBOT masks at a local studio. Super fun and a little crazy!
When your senior Pastor retires after 29 years...you host a huge celebration!
And then brunch...of course!
No pumpkin patch this year...but we hit up Yakima Market for a few pumpkins with the pumpkins.
Early birthday present for the soon to be 12 year old....a guitar with lessons!!!
Special gifts for LJ from friends far away.
And then the real day was here...and we had a SIX year old!
Who doesn't love the school FUN run especially when it falls on your birthday!
Kinder was YELLOW and ran inside from the huge storm that hit.

Final "runner" was the GLOW party for middle school.

It's Saturday in October...guess what we are doing?
And then we hit up a Northwest U Soccer game to cheer on Lucy!
The gang...
Windy walks with G! My favorite time to chat and hear what's on his heart. I don't often find myself the most patient with him so it helps for us to get outside and shake things up!
Cheer pictures too....
And a quick afternoon date with the hubs...seems like drop off and pick up is our best chance to hang out or maybe a Friday afternoon trip to Costco.
When mom breaks the rules...
And we all fit on the couch...IYKYK!!!
Some event that we are at with kids...together.
Fall walks with my buddy...he misses the consistency of summer, but the weather just has been crazy.

Friends from cheer (and school too)!
A special coffee from a friend for me.
And when the Trunk or Treat was done...there was Sushi to be had! Rich was off for the weekend with the dog and the kids and I enjoyed a quiet night.
We destroyed the sushi!
Because everyone needs Halloween pajamas.
"DUBS UP" for the UW Volleyball win.
And then a quiet coffee on Sunday morning for mom.
Meanwhile Dad and Ford were enjoying some time at the cabin bird hunting and hanging.

Good night and Good morning smiles for Daddy.
The Most Important Vote of MY lifetime...not really, but a funny play on every election!
Dress up night for cheer...and a Cubs party.
Halloween Morning with the early crew!
A wild Halloween...but also a quiet one where we ended up on the couch playing games and laughing instead of beating the streets. All's well that ends well and this family is starting to learn when to say NO....and I'm grateful for it.
