When God placed Waymaker Fund on our family, I have to admit, I struggled with the "why us"...well, each time we take a step in faith with Waymaker, God continues to show up and show up BIG. In January, Rich started talking about the need to share our mission, thank those who have supported us and really reach into the future of Waymaker. So, insert Waymaker Fund's 1st Dinner Fundraiser Event. We looked at many locations, but finally came to Russell's as being the place. From our 1st call, it was the place to have it. The event planner was a fellow believer and member at our church. The location helped offset the cost by waiving the room rental fee. And everything started falling into place. We didn't know what to expect, so we prayed. We sent invites and prayed. We followed up and prayed. And BOY did God provide. We had 49 guests who shared the evening of amazing food and fellowship! We shared our story, we shared the mission and we raised a ...
Oh October, you are such a special month with birthdays and sports and ALL THE THINGS...but you sure were BUSY! We had to make some decisions to forgo what we "had done in the past" to make sure it still served us in this season! 3 kids...3 sports...school...music...more. We aren't busier than anyone else...and it's a choice, but I'm so grateful that November will bring a little reprieve! (And as I sit here today without power, I'm trying to stay in the attitude of gratitude....) Grateful for the sunny soccer games cheering on Griffin. The HCA team had an amazing season and it was fun to watch G grow during his second season playing soccer. Such an amazing opportunity to learn something new and have some fun. Picture day...they don't always look this good on the way to school at 7:35am! And the reward for helping out...sneak peeks! Sunny afternoons meant a few more opportunities to get in a few family walks. We blew past our 300 mile goal this year a...
Every kid should have the chance to feel like a total "baller" and have Grammy pick them up in a cool car! Griffin had the privilege of riding home from school in Grammy's sick ride (well, Debbie's)! He even got to take a friend for an imaginary spin! Girls got to have some fun too! Bullseye...these 2 have been begging Rich to take them for a while and it finally worked out for them to attend a gun safety class in May. They learned more about safety and for this I am so very grateful. Wowza, I'm going to miss the special carved out time this one and I have had for the past few years...but it just means I will need to be even more intentional with time (since it surely isn't slowing down). Off to visit Kennewick Grammy for the weekend... Sunshine, the park and even some swimming evened out our trip! Back on the road and it was really quiet...it's not often ALL of them sleep anyone, but 2 out of 3 is a win! Special trip for the 4th grade girls to Men...
