ONE WEEK OLD - Already?!?!

Seriously, where did the time go!

We reached our DUE DATE and celebrated Griffin's ONE week birthday!

Still on the light, but his levels were dropping ....now down to 14.6 and almost is the safe zone (12-14)!  We were proud that he was gaining weight and getting better...still pretty yellow!

What an amazing 1st week we had!

We love our little man more than we could have ever imagined and getting to see Rich as a proud papa has made my love for him grow deeper than I knew possible!  I am basically exploding with LOVE everyday and can't believe how blessed I am for my little family.

Day 7 - November 6, 2012

Tuesday was Rich's first day back into a routine...and off to an early morning meeting.

My levels are getting better...but still to high to come off the light!

After 12 hours of treatment, Griffin's bilirubin levels had dropped to 16.6 from 21 the night before...plus he gained 3.5 ounces!  We were starting to see that the treatment was working and Griffin was a trooper on the light!

On Tuesday, Griffin got visits from his Great Aunt Cindy, Great-Grandma Gloria and Great Aunt Roxy....in addition to his cousin Jillian and Grammy Joni.

Day 6 - November 5, 2012

Monday already?!?!

At least it wasn't time to go back to work...or was it?!?!

Rich and I hit the office for a few hours on Monday morning and left Chukar to babysit Griffin while we were just a room away!   He stood and watched Griffin sleep or sat and stared at him for a few hours...only making a peep when Griffin was waking up.  Pretty much warning us that Griffin was ready to eat or maybe had pooped!  Good babysitter!

Monday afternoon were hit the road again and went to our postpartum visit at Overlake Women's Center...we learned a great lesson and will now always pack an extra outfit in the diaper bag...for the blowouts that ensue when you are out and about!

At out appointment, we found out that Griffin's Jaundice numbers were up and we needed a blood test...we did the blood work at the hospital and headed home to wait for the results.  On our way home, we found out that his levels has risen to 21 and that he was going to need to go on a light box to treat the Jaundice...the new mom in me felt that I had done something wrong and was so sad that my little man was going to spend the next 3-5 days on his box.  Luckily, we have great insurance, so Griffin was able to get treatment at home and have the home health nurses come to us!

Monday night, Kelby, Ryan and Beckett brought us dinner...and were there when we had to put our little man on the light.  It was so great to have friends there when we heard the hard news....

Day 5 - November 4, 2012

Sunday...Football...Lounging...Settling into LIFE at home!

Chukar has been the best dog and BIG brother that I could have ever pictured for Griffin...he is protective when needed, gentle when around him and loves him more than I could have imagined.

Day 5 went great and Night 5 went well too...we were able to get 3 - 2.5 hour chunks of sleep!  It's amazing how you can go from complaining about 7 hours of restless sleep to enjoying 7.5 hours of total sleep broken up by 1 hour "up" times with baby!

What a wild ride it has been...and it just keeps getting better!

Day 4 - November 3, 2012

Morning cuddles with Papa, Chukar and Griffin!

Saturday morning we had out 1st family outing to the pediatricians office to check Griffin's Bilirubin levels and make sure that his Jaundice was going down.  He gained 1 oz and his levels although high, were in a level that did not need any treatment!  Yeah, we were ecstatic.

On Saturday, we had lots of visitors and everyone was so excited to meet our new little bundle of joy!

Lori, Avea and Rene were able to head over Saturday morning and spend a little time with Griffin.

Then, "Auntie" Heather and Adam came over for a visit and brought us a delicious dinner!

So nice to see great friends and not have to eat hospital food any longer!

Saturday was a busy day with visits from Grammy and Grandpa Boness too...and Auntie Jenn, Danny and Jillian too!

Day 3 - November 2, 2012

Holy smokes...I'm 3 days old and LOVE my Mommy & Daddy SOOOO much!

but soon settled down.

 just enough to let us know that he doesn't like something).

Coming home was such a special experience and we were so lucky to be able to have some special time with our little family.  Amazing how wonderful it felt to get home and have our little man with us.  Chukar absolutely fell in love with Griffin and is such a gentle little giant around him.
